ASHLAR SENIORS GOLF CLUB |
![]() |
Ashlar Seniors Golf Club was formed in March 1990.
To become a MEMBER you must be at least 50 years of age and be either a 5, 6 or 7 day member or a Social member of Ashlar Golf Club.
The "SENIORS" conduct a 9 hole competition every Wednesday morning starting from the 10th tee between sunrise and 8am. Details of the various competitions are listed in the Ashlar Fixtures and Events booklet.
Prizes are awarded in at least 3 grades, sometimes 4 depending on the number of starters, as well as a nearest the pin prize in 3 grades.
The event concludes with the presentation of prizes and a meat raffle between 11 and 11-30am in the Golf Club.
All members are requested to stay after the game and attend the presentation of prizes and support the Club in the meat raffle. This is part of being a member of the SENIORS.
The competition entry fee is $5 for 5, 6 or 7 day golf members however Social members are also required to pay the Pro Shop the nine hole social fee (currently $9.50)
New members will be given a handicap and after 3 games are eligible to win prizes.
Preferred lies, friendly tee locations and great company ensure an enjoyable day. A barbeque is held once a month prior to the presentation and a number of bus trips and social events are held during the year. NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME, just turn up any Wednesday morning before 7.45am.
The current Committee members are: Ernie Barker (President), Tom Griffiths (Captain), Tony Popper (Secretary/Treasurer), Ken Ferris (Handicapper), Jim Buckley, Barbara Ellis, Ron Ellis, Bob Gear, Greg McDonald, Jock O'Brien, and Ted Quy.
